1. You can not connect to a CLIENT you need to connect to a HIGHSITE - a node that broadcasts, clients dont broadcast.

2. Where are you located ? Near Hammanskraal ?

3. The more open the LOS the better, the fresnel zone (yellow) lines should also be clear for better signal. Best is to physically check line of sight from your roof with binoculars.

Yes i am near hammanskraal, and actually quiet close to the Highsite.
But what does the "yellow" ring mean which i am in?
Could you see by the test pic if its good or not?

Thanks for the reply.

LOS to hammanskraal looks good
Yellow circle is the beam that the 2.4 omni broadcasts at Hammanskraal.
The picture on www.ptawug.co.za on the right is the tower at Hammanskraal, check if you can see it with binocs.

Thanks, so the yellow ring is the 2.4ghz and the red is the 5.8ghz. I assume the 2.4 is slower the the 5.8ghz how does that actually work? Will the speeds be much slower or what?

please use IRC
www.ptawug.co.za -> IRC -> mibbit applet

2.4 can connect on 2.4 and 5.8 not vice versa. So you will need to get a 2.4ghz antenna.
