OK So you want to get connected to a WUG. First things first, register on this site, activate your account and login.
Browse to the WugPlotter menu and go to "Add location", here you will be required to enter you GPS coordinates.
If you do not have your GPS coordinates, we recommend downloading GooglEarth.
This is a fantastic application that allows youto get your coordinates. There are some placemark files on the Add location page if
you wish to get a rough estimate of landmarks in your area.
Please make sure for the height you enter the height above ground where your acess point would be situated. This is usually around 5-10m for normal house.
Do not enter your height above sea level
Once your location has been added, you will be able to download the KML file that contains the locations of all the registered users which is your next step.
Open the file up in google earth and see where the closest active node near you. In order to connect you must have LOS (Line of sight) to the point. If you are unsure if you
have LOS you can get a rough estimate from the Line of Sight calculator on the WugPlotter menu.
If you do not have line of sight, you will have to find another node to connect through that you do have line of sight to.
On finding a node you have line of sight to, you will need to see if the antenna beamwith from that site falls over your node. If it does then you're in luck! You can connect.
If you dont have LOS you will have to come chat to us, and we can advise you what your next step is.
Either way if you can connect or not you will have to contact us in order to route you onto the network. Click on the CGI:IRC or the JAVA:IRC at the top of the page
to have a chat with us. We will try our best to accomodate everyone!
Once you have registered with WugNet you will be presented with the following menu items:

This is the main part of the WugNet website. The WugPlotter has two components: locations and links.
The place where you plan to have your wireless equipment is called a location.
Once you are linked to someone, or someone

Your link is either in a client or AP mode.
Client: you are connecting to an Access point
AP mode: links are connecting to you

You will be presented with a page where all the fields are self-explanatory.
Note: The longitude/latitude field accepts most formats, most common is DMS eg: 12 34'56" (field separated with a non-numeric)
and decimal eg: 12.23456
Once your input has been accepted your new location will be added and you will see it listed under WugPlotter>My locations.
You will see a new icon appear to the right once your location has been added.
Clicking on this will take you to the page to create a link for that location.

- Select "None - ACCESS POINT - Others will connect to me" if others will be connecting TO you otherwise, select someone you will
be linking to from the combobox. (We recommend you discuss this with the core members first before you select the wrong node)
If you are connecting to someone else we recommend leaving all the "AUTO" fields checked

 Resources |
| |
The resource page is where you are able to view all the Resources available on the network and add your's to the list.
Some resources for example are: FTP server, Audio Servers, Game Servers, DC++ Hubs etc.
You will only be granted access to the resources once you have become an active member on your wug, contact your admin to do this.

 Changes |
| |
The changes page is where any change to the wug can be kept track of. Changes help to track problem areas, and help resolve many issues over time.
Should something change such as signal strength or speed there should be an answer to that from the changes.
