  • At the last wugmeet 22 Nov we were 186 users connected, now we are 225 -ProtZkroG [written on 2009-01-10, 49 days since last meeting, 39 users joined, 5.5 a week]
  • Decide on a date to have breakfast at Karoo Cafe (Die Wilgers highsite) and present the owner with a gift from PTAWUG -ProtZkroG

  • Test kits
    • Ordered 10 Senao USB radios to use to build more test kits. Dankie aan al die manne wat hulle tyd en petrol op offer om op mense se dakke te gaan klim en sein toets -ProtZkroG
    • We need more people to operate the testkit, no one volunteers, take the kit for two weeks and goto potential wuggers houses and test. All that is needed is a car and a laptop. More senao radios arriving in April. -ProtZkroG

    • Can we please refrain from giving details pertaining to wugged channel and stuff like wiki to non-connected people. Could lead to some serious issues.
  • Admins
    • More admins needed -LouisZa
    • Would like to explain the role of Admin ppl, what is expected from them, what they do and why they do it - bashTux
    • We need an attitude towards people that are inactive and only join channels when HS is down. Currently many admins will prefer to rather give first priority to the more active members. Less active members thus just have to wait. - right? - bashTux
  • consolidation of web sites -spiderz
    • Make use of a Forum for Technical Issues / Queries. Some ppl can not stay on IRC all day every day. New users will also be able to refer to older topics for assistance on Forums. - wab (try www.wug.za.net/forum/ or the Hardware Notes page on the wiki, a wiki article on how to do something is much better than a forum thread)

      • we need some better/extra communication channels. Not everyone has the time to spend on irc everyday. Mailing lists maybe? or Rss feeds or WIKI - spiderz
      • i for one would like to know when/what is happening to the HS's I'm connected to, or just some general wug info via mail every now and then - spiderz

  • PTAWUG can not be used for gaming, the latency and speed between users is insufficient -LouisZA
  • Formation of a "street-team" - people who do promotion as well as try to find new highsites by "spamming" people with PTAWUG flyers -ProtZkroG

    • Users with an omni and 2-3 users allready connected could then possibly get a grid 2 grid connction to a HS
    • The idea is to promote and get proper meshing going in PTA

  • QoS, Sorting out link between PTA and CENT & Routing issues between PTAWUG and JAWUG -th0rn
  • Routing plan with more interconnects between PTAWUG + JAWUG. OSPF isn't gonna work too well with so many routes -Xarion

    • Need highsite in Groenkloof, high up, someone has to know someone that lives there -Foeffie
    • Ons kort n site op die rant tussen PTA en Centurion, Erasmusrand, Waterkloof - sodat ons n one hop link tussen die areas kan kry, iemand moet iemand ken wat daar woon, maak asb werk daarvan om uit te vind, die toegang en toestemming is die probleem, nie die geld nie -ProtZkroG
