WugKit
From WugWiki
Open the Box with the feed horn take out the feed, nuts/bolts and the reflector plate (2.4ghz).
You will have 2 short bolts and 4 long bolts.
Use the 2 small nuts/bolts to attach the two halves of the split grid at the corners.
In the kit you will also have 2 U-Clamps and an L-Bracket with their respective nuts and washers. (see below ... don't attach the U-Bolts to the L-Bracket just yet)
Flip the grid face down and place the RouterBoard enclosure + bracket + L-Bracket as shown in the picture below.
Mount these three items together through the left and right holes provided. (see below) The top and bottom holes will be used to mount the feed horn in the next step.
Take the remaining two nuts/bolts and mount the feed horn to the kit through the top and bottom holes (see below)
After mounting the feed horn you can proceed to tighten all 6 nuts and bolts.
Attach the feed horn connector to the connector on the enclosure - try not to bend the cable too much on the connector, rather bend it at the feed horn side where there is no connector. (see below)
NB NB NB Take note that by tightening the feed horn connector you do not turn the connector on the enclosure as this will turn the cable inside the enclosure and pull the smaller connector off your radio and possible wreck it. NB NB NB
Flip the kit around and fasted the reflector plate to the feed horn. The grid in this HOWTO has been assembled in a vertical polarisation. (Polarisation mark on the reflector matches the grid lines - UP/DOWN in this case (vertical))
Tape up the connector to seal it from water as water will destroy signal! Tape often comes apart and you land up with a nice tape tail flying in the wind. We recommend to tape up the connector and place a cable tie around it to stop this from happening.
Next attach the u-clamps and bracket to the L-bracket - this is how your kit will be mounted to your pole! (see below)
Your kit is now ready to be configured!
In your kit you will also have a PoE connector and power adapter. You will need two ethernet flylead to proceed to the configuration of the unit.
- Open up the enclosure be remove the plastic screws and run one flylead from the PoE port marked on the RouterBoard to the PoE port marked on the PoE injector. (Below)
- Next run your second fly lead from the LAN port on the PoE Injector to your PC/HUB/Switch.
- Time to download winbox and contact your Wug Admin :)
